Filipino Hot Babes
Okay, call me old-fashioned, a stickler if you like, but I happen to think publishing in the recruiting space comes with some social and corporate responsbilities. Don’t you?
While Jobster still has employees on the payroll it would serve their brand — not to mention Recruitopians and the community at large – if someone took a moment to monitor who is submitting what on Recruiting.com. Today, Filipino Hot Babes, tomorrow what – incest, donkey-love?
Anyone who has a blog knows that there is some horrible stuff that seaps through the sewage pipes. Suppressing the spammers is a tiresome job but it comes with the territory. Sure, it starts with something innocuous but quickly spirals down from exotic teapots to erotic sex-pots, and from chai in Calcutta to tarts in Thailand.
Who is monitoring Recruiting.com’s content, Jobster’s brand?
For what it’s worth, my advice to the now faceless Recruiting.com suits: Keep it clean. Remember, no brand was served well by treating its audience with contempt any more than the cause of Web 2.0 and the values on which Jobster was supposedly built is served by turning over the space to new levels of wrecklessness.

Good spot Amitai,
Nothing surprises me when it comes to Jobster, as I have blogged previously. Trouble is, now one spammer has found it, that will be the end of its credability, as more are sure to follow them!!
Such a shame as Jobster had so much potential at one stage – until the overhyped, egomanic CEO went mad and thought he could walk on water!! (bet you can’t tell who I am talking about can you??!)
I see he is now trying to fleece a whole new investment community over on the East Coast!!

Andy, thanks for the comment but you are confusing two issues.
1. While Jason Goldberg was a maverick CEO and the architect behind Jobster’s failures one would hope that any lessons learned would be properly applied in his new venture social|median.
For sure, any investor doing his or her due diligence before investing in a Goldberg venture will certainly know from the blogs what’s what. And therein lies the paradox. For all of his faults JGo was completely transparent and — like him or not — ‘authenticated.’ I don’t think Goldberg is out to fleece anyone, but then again, who knows? Wolves do come in sheep’s clothing, so I’m told.
2. With John Sumser’s departure as editor for Recruiting.com it appears no one is driving the bus. If spammers are allowed to hijack it that will not only be a crying shame but an indictment too on the new leadership who have inherited a responsibility to all of Jobster’s stakeholders — that includes recruiting bloggers and readers alike.
If incumbent CEO Seely doesn’t understand that fiduciary responsibility has to be tempered with social responsibility he’ll have a harder time of raising money than JGo will.
